In this formalist experiment John forms a new concept of a triangle in space, connecting lines in unique ways. The artist’s mother, Kathleen, stands in a three story high window, holding a dropper full of blood. John sits on the sidewalk below with a string held in his mouth leading all the way up to his mother above. The audio video cables leading down the side of the building from the interview with Kathleen make another length of the triangle. The monitor on the sidewalk enabled viewers to see and hear the interview in its entirety. From there, the third line of the triangle was formed by the tracing of John’s family tree diagram back to where he sat with the hypotenuse in his mouth. As Kathleen told of their bloody origin she dripping blood down the length all the way to his mouth where he swallowed it.
