"Labor Is Golden"

A collaboration with Julian Rozzelle Jr. (Bonazelle) The sweeping forms highlight the movement of a mop head with gold gilded strands on it. The tool of a laborer in jobs not usually sought is not only a potential paintbrush but a familiar part of the day jobs that artists sometimes need to take in order to pay for their art  practice. How the extremely wealthy depend on laborers to upkeep their businesses and lifestyles is at the heart of the painting's use of gold leaf, contrasting otherwise a muted color pallet.
