PAINT ROLLER, 2006
EXCERPT (original RT 17 min) The artist rolls down 26th Street in New York City while the dancer/choreographer Nataraj pours gallons of paint on his body. Starting on the Hudson River with minimalist costumes and with white paint the two performers set off to make a line painting that adds new color with every block. Prepared to go the whole distance from river to river, the artists hit a bump in their creative path - the NYPD. Set to the minimalist score by Ben Zaitchik, this is a modern urban homage to the spiritual devotees (the Sadhu) of India.
