POLYMORPH 1: WILD FLOWER (WORK-IN-PROGRESS)

First installment of kinetic, endurance performance art series wherein Bonafede borrows the nomenclature of the triathlon sports world to name the sculptural mediums his body metaphorically morphs into. In this work-in-progress video we start to see what 1.5M swim, 56M bike and a 13.1M run can do to the body as it is set in the scenic Lake San Antonio State Park, Monteray CA. Wildflowers abound, Bonafede races for TEAM in Training, Leukemia Lymphoma Society, to raise $ for blood cancers. Recognizing that the transitions in a triathlon are nothing compared to the changes a cancer patient must undergo, he nonetheless endeavors to explore the blurry line between his own body and various elements he moves in.
